Would you like to make a contribution to the prayers we say, the hymns we sing or the intentions we express during Mass?
The constitution of the Sacred Liturgy, “Sacrosanctum Concilium“ encourages active participation of the laity. Article 14 specifically states: “Mother Church earnestly desires that all the faithful should be led to that fully conscious and active participation in liturgical celebrations which is demanded by the very nature of the liturgy”.
This page provides you with the opportunity to:
- Write and submit a Prayer of the Faithful
- Request a hymn be sung
- Ask for the community to pray for a special intention
Write a Prayer of the Faithful.
The prayers generally fall under one of 5 headings:
- What are the noteworthy national or international news events of this week?
- What challenges is the Church facing today?
- What are some of the chronic problems we face at home, at work, in our local
community, in our nation, etc.? - Are there special local events, national holidays, landmark date or anniversaries to be
aware of this week? - Are there any specific parish needs to address?
The prayer you write needs to be between 25 – 50 words.
Make sure the prayer is submitted by Wednesday afternoon for the coming Sunday. That is, if you want the community to include your prayer for the weekend of August 17/18, it needs to be submitted by Wednesday August 14.

Do you have a favourite hymn that you’d like the community to sing at a specific Mass?
When making a suggestion, keep in mind the theme of the Sunday’s Scripture readings and the season of the liturgical year are we celebrating.
To prepare yourself in your suggestion, please refer to the Sunday Readings page for the themes of the Masses through the year.
Make sure your hymn suggestion is submitted by Wednesday afternoon for the coming Sunday. That is, if you want the community to include your hymn for the weekend of August 17/18, it needs to be submitted by Wednesday August 14.

Share an intention
The power of community prayer can never be underestimated, so please share with the community any important events, concerns or issues in your life that you would like us to join with you in prayer. These intentions can be made anonymously (although someone from the Liturgy Team will be in contact with you to confirm your intention) or we can identify the intention with the requester.
These intentions will be put on a powerpoint slide during the Procession of Gifts for the community to pray as our gifts are brought to the Altar.
Make sure your intention is submitted by Wednesday afternoon for the coming Sunday. That is, if you want the community to include your intention for the weekend of August 17/18, it needs to be submitted by Wednesday August 14.
